Denton County's newest master-planned community, Landmark, is scheduled to begin the first phase of construction next month. The Landmark community will belong to Hunter Ranch Improvement District No. 1, and the district will provide the neighborhood with water and sewer services.
The first phase of construction, scheduled to begin in September 2024, will include over 700 homes with 9 different builders.
The finished community will include over 6,000 single-family homes, 5 million square feet of mixed-use space, and an 1,100-acre green ecosystem encompassing parks and trails. Key highlights include a 300-acre park and entertainment district with retail, dining, office, and hospitality options, along with 32 miles of hike and bike trails, a 54-acre city park, two five-acre neighborhood parks, and several onsite schools.
The property’s defining feature is Pilot Knob, the highest point in Denton and a historic way finder for indigenous peoples and settlers. This unique site inspired the name "Landmark by Hillwood" and the guiding vision, "The land leads us," emphasizing the land’s natural features in every planning decision.
